hi. i'm like on the other side of the world. where nobody really leaves to study in the US. so enlighten me, is it a big deal to get into fordham? i mean is it...well...known and respected? ...
Look up the Princeton review. I think it's in the top 100 schools, though I don't remember.
It also depends what you're going for. The theater and dance departments are some of the most respected in the country, and the law school is on the level of Harvard (so I've heard).
The business school is one of the top business schools, according to some list.
As far as the rest of the university goes, it's solid. It's small enough that not a lot of people have heard of it, but the people who have respect it.
However, regardless of a school's statistics, you should be happy there. Not everyone is suited for every school. Take the time to investigate things like student life, maybe get to know some students, visit if at all possible. If there are two schools you love and feel comfortable with, THEN you can compare stats.
Good luck! I loved Fordham and wouldn't trade my time there for anything, but it's different for everyone.
I don't think a lot of people have heart of Fordham, not like with Harvard or Yale or whatever, but those who have know it's a good school. And I've heard it's getting harder to get into as more people apply.
it def has its prestige, esp. in ny and nyc. its getting harder and harder to get into and its one of the finest jesuit institutions. and it was a jeopardy question the other night!
