There is little doubt that Fin Aid sucks monkey balls. It literally took me a letter from my mom's priest to end the whole thing, and because I'm a transfer I didn't get very much. But if going to Fordham is a 'dream come true,' I'd recommend going. Sure, student loan debt sucks, but you only live once, might as well go to the school you love.
It's not worth it. It would suck to have such a vast amount of student loans to repay after graduating, unless you're planning on making 6 figures right out of college. I got a $9000/yr scholarship and basically no need-based aid. It still ended up being so incredibly expensive because New York is such an expensive place to live as it is; I never let myself go out or do anything because everything cost so much and I needed to save money for basic needs like, well, food (the cafeteria is disgusting) and toilet paper. It made my year at Fordham incredibly stressful and unpleasant, and I ended up transferring.
I'm also at fordham on a full scholarship and I think it's definitely worth it. However, if I hadn't recieved financial aid, I'm not sure it would have been worth the quarter of a million dollars in debt

Fordham is really a great school, but I don't think it's worth putting yourself in debt if you're not 100% you are going to love it. I thought it would be my everything and it wasn't (due to a number of personal outside factors) and I ended up transferring because I was unhappy.
My dad went to Seton Hall. It's a nice area of NJ and a good school to boot for much less. I am not telling you to go there instead, but there are a lot of things to take into account when choosing a school other than Fordham and being in the city.
I went to Fordham and loved every minute of it. Fordham was the right school for me. I would not have been as happy anywhere else. So I consider the mountain of debt worth it. I had a full ride for my last two years, but if I hadn't, I would have withdrawn for a semester, saved up money, and gone back rather than transfer

I would not call finanical aid good at Fordham. Many of my friends were forced to leave because Fordham changed their aid package and they could no longer afford it. Also, they regularly mess up paperwork and cause students unessisary stress.
