1. I have to take out a bunch of loans every semester because I can't afford the tuiton based on the aid they give me.

4. ...The Bronx neighborhood, or the Lincoln Center one? Eh, I'll answer both. The Bronx neighborhood isn't a spectacular neighborhood. It's ok during the day, although there aren't a ton of food choices nearby, but at night you should never, ever walk alone. I don't say that to scare you or anything, but students have gotten mugged before and it's a good idea to stay in a crowd.

The Lincoln Center neighborhood had tons of food, shopping, movies, etc nearby, but being in Manhattan, it's expensive. I haven't heard much about student having safety issues at this campus.

I edited with a few more details.

Thanks for the quick response! And yeah, I expect to be in a lot of debt by the time I graduate. Oh well. :( If you don't mind my asking, what is "a bunch" of loans? We may have different definitions of that.

Sorry, I wasn't very specific. I meant that every semester I have to take out a federal loan and a private loan, and by the time I graduate I'll have to pay back maybe 50k or more.

And I'm probably biased, because I dislike most of the Bronx, but I've always found that the food and entertainment choices are severely limited in the Bronx and much better at LC. But, like I said, biased.

I'm going to be honest, 50k is a lot better than I expected. I could get more/less aid than you did, though, so who knows.

Honestly, you shouldn't have ANY bugs... it always helps to keep a clean space, of course.

the area by LC is perfect. you're by everything you need, and if not, you're right by the subway that will take you there. super safe. super clean and new building. it's the nicest place i'll ever live in in manhattan.

aid depends on the person and the year. tuition went up this year. it depends on the loans you take out etc.

comm is one of our biggest majors. there are a lot of class options, but i couldn't tell you much about the actual content of them. good luck!

Financial Aid was very good to me... not spectacular but I received the full amount of stafford loans (they increase every year...for me it was 2.5k freshman 3k sophomore and 5.5k junior and senior years .but i think loan packages went up this year). I also received 21,000 in tution grants and merit based scholarships plus student work study. One thing about financial aid is to get your paper work in right away because they start assigning aid as soon as the papers come in and if you're at the bottom of the stack then you're screwed. so then when you get for initial package if you don't feel like its enough...appeal it. its called a "recon" (reconsideration) so what you need to do then is write a letter to your financial aid counselor or to the VP explaining why you really want to go to fordham and how much going there would mean to you and then why you need more aid then fafsa allocated you for. for example when I did my recon I had a lot family issues that a form couldn't acocunt for...like the fact that my grandmother and neice ( ... )

Oh my God, thank you so much for the anecdotal advice. I've been told that I should go to the best school I can get into, so if I get into Fordham, I'll go. :)
