Ring on, Morris Bells!

Many of those who read my LJ know that my friend and former partner and co-parent, Torbin, died very unexpectedly on Feb. 28.  Our daughter, honouring his wishes and also because that's what she herself thought was the right thing to do, hosted a party to celebrate his life this past Saturday ( Read more... )

It was a great party, and I believe Torbin would have appreciated it! Jordan was well rewarded for his dancing performance with some mementoes from the Hobbit-party room. I don't think any of us will forget Torbin. He's made an impact on the tastes and culture of a bunch of us, even if we don't know from whence it has come. What are the chances that Jordan would have taken up Morris-dancing if one of his lady-friends hadn't previously taken it up to be with Torbin? Oh what a tangled web...

it was wonderful. thank you. glad that i pinged duffy in time enough for him to connect with me & make plans to go together :) maybe it's odd, but dance - medieval or morris always has a bassoon in it for it to seem 'right' to me. the pictures were a lovely revisit to times past. there's a chance i will connect with caitlin on monday night (chance) - if it happens more remembering will be had i suspect
