A brief summary of the last couple of weeks (behind a cut due to the fact that it’s going to be an angst fest:

EXHAUSTION.

I swear, if it’s not one thing, it’s another. Three papers due in one week, fifteen chapters from Tocqueville to read for one class, eight chapters for another, two of Shakespeare’s plays plus all the notes that go along with it, and to top it all off, I was assigned to the project group in my Shakespearian Literature class that got exactly five days to put together a twenty minute presentation. FIVE DAYS. Incidentally, the group was only able to meet twice, once on Sunday morning at eight o’clock, and then last night/this morning at midnight. It took two hours last night, with the result that I got back to my room after two o’clock, and still had homework. I don’t do all nighters, I simply don’t. I need sleep, unlike other college students.

And oh yes, I’m still the only person in my Western Civilization recitation who actually reads our discussion assignments. Note to the predominantly freshmen students in that class (though I know that none will ever see this):

READ THE FUCKING ASSIGNMENTS. EVERYONE ACTS IRRITATED THAT I DO ALL THE TALKING, BUT I’M THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN. DAMN YOU ALL.

On a positive note of sorts, luckily, the presentation went very well today, and I was able to give an energetic (my classmates’ description, not mine) account of James I. I’m lucky in that, if I’m speaking about a subject I love, I really get into it and can speak well. That’s apparently what happened this morning, which saved me, because I was dead tired. >_<

I knew when I changed my major that I was going to have a ton of homework, reading, writing, and the like….but damn it, that doesn’t mean I have to enjoy having so much dumped on me at once. Damn and blast. >_<

Off topic, the kitty icon for "exhausted" is quite cute.
