Thank god the Orange and Brew sells Starbucks now. I felt dirty having to drink Java City, I felt like I wasn't being patriotic drinking something other than Starbucks.

Yaeh, I feel much safer now that the coffee shop in Shand's lobby serves Starbuck's coffee as well. You never know what disgusting commie expatriots may have defiled your coffee over at Java City.

Three Starbuck's on one intersection? I thought having a Starbuck's right across the street from another coffee shop downtown was bad ....

Do you mean Robson street? I don't get farther west on Robson than Virgin Records if I can help it, so I wasn't aware that there was a third Starfucks at that intersection for a while.

Doesn't it seem rather ironic to you, though, that Starbucks is the place where pseudointellectual hippies, college students, beat poets, black people, et al. go to get coffee, said group being about as far left as it gets in the United States? Nothing is as sweet as some good irony.

Except, perhaps, a Starbucks© grande chai with liberal amounts nutmeg and cinnamon and one packet of Sugar in the Raw® gently stirred to taste.

Why yes, you're right. Notice that person making a peace sign behind the American flag in the last photograph. It seems that Starbuck's really is populated with liberal hippie types. What do you know?

I also see a lot of yuppie types there, but they're a variable bunch. We get rednecks in our local Starbuckses because western PA is the White Trash Belt™.

As opposed to really any other section of PA save Philly and perhaps Pitt?

As the joke goes, "Pittsburg, Philly and Georgia in between"...
