Well, the North American Discworld Convention 2009 is over, and I have finally managed to recover somewhat (caught a cold on the way home, blah). By accounts I've heard from all quarters thus far, the con has been considered a big success by all, including Sir Terry himself! If there is another NADWCON, and they end up having it in Seattle like I've heard discussed, I want to help with planning it.

The convention was so much fun! I still need to post my pictures. Sometime soon perhaps, when I don't have so many book reviews due.

I remember thinking at the time, that "Best Discworld Ever" comment must have rankled the Brits who came over. They'll have to console themselves with the knowledge that y'all learned HOW to do a good Discworld con from them.

And by the way, 2 October. Just saying. For all the good it ever does.

P.S. Well, that's the truth - we would not have been able to do nearly as good a job if we were the first EVER Discworld convention; and hopefully the Brits are all as good-hearted as the ones I know who are as glad as we are that the first one here went so well. :) Their Discworld cons are amazing, so hopefully no one got upset that he said that about ours.
