My motivation for making sure I have money saved up is my dad drilling it into my head growing up and using every chance he got to give me some sort of financial lesson. He still does even though I'm married and own a house. :) But, he has good advice--I was laid off for 9 months and never had to use a credit card to pay for things. I got by on my unemployment check and even though I had to dip into savings occasionally, I came out of it still having quite a bit saved. It makes me proud to say that.

That's awesome for you (except the being laid off part). Keep up the good work :) Maybe you'll have a motivational visual on the bellydancing or costuming front down the road... speaking of which, what've you been up to lately on those or other fronts?

Neither :( But for good reasons--my new job is a 2nd shift job (Sunday - Thursday, 3 pm - midnight), so I can't take classes. I'm taking online classes at Wayne State for Library Science, so I don't have time in the day to do costuming--plus, we got married AND bought a house this semester so it's been extra crazy!!!!!

I think if you learn early about the rewards of saving money, it stays with you for the rest of your life :)

How are you?

Did you know that Suhaila offers classes online that you can do on your own time? One of my friends has signed up for these and found them useful...

Delilah is also just starting to offer classes online, but I don't know ho wthey will be.

Online classes for Wayne State sounds like it'll keep you busy... I'm finishing up an Arabic class through HFCC... marriage and home buying definitely keeps one busy...

Doing ok here... looking forward to having more time in my schedule after next week when classes end for the year... need to get back to more exercising/a little bit less academic pursuits.

Had some vacation to use up (still working on that) so I took yesterday off and got a lot done. Looking forward to having next Wednesday off to do more of the same before getting too close to Christmas... :)
