[The humans in the village have been screaming. That's what kept her away from the place for the past few nights, her general bias against houses aside. The point is, it wasn't the fog. It's just stupid fog, they are really making too much of a scene about something so natural. The costume problem is far worse.

That's what she thought until this ( Read more... )

[One of those pumpkins is not like the others. The eyes glow, yes--but they're red, and the shape they belong to is not pumpkinlike at all.

The house wasn't safe. The sun was hidden, didn't prickle unpleasantly at her skin and the house wasn't safe. A crushing sense of paranoia had driven the little vampire outside away from her guardians--and she found herself huddled on the ground with her knees drawn up to her chest.

...there's someone there. Flandre's gaze snaps toward the movement, and her wings already flare out--bristling.]

[San will sit down right about here, only a few feet from the other girl. She has one hand against her bleeding shoulder, and seems to take no notice of Flandre's attempt to ward off predators]

[Flandre keeps bristling, even as she inches away--she's growling now, too.

What she saw didn't quite match any of her nightmarish memories. The illusory enemy changed, several times--from hunter, to surgeon, to inquisitor--but what stayed the same was the tea leaking from their shoulder.

...it made her hungry.]

[San hears the growl and goes defensive, drawing her knife and growling in return. She doesn't go down without a fight]

[Aldo had decided to brave the risk of hallucinations and peek outside the community building for a bit. He's just barely leaving the shelter of the building, but when he spots the familiar girl, he's going to be walking over.] Miss...?

[San half-stands and gets ready to fight, but...oh, no. It's just you. The feeling he gives her is still one of absolute apathy. So she sits back down, holding one hand over her bleeding shoulder again]

[Oh dear, she lives in the forest, doesn't she...?] Miss, you need to get that shoulder wrapped up, or at least healed.

[how strange. The human boy is suddenly a wolf. San blinks, but it takes a comparatively long time for the illusion to fade.]

I'm fine.

[ Cooro is being a good boy and staying in the village like Ginko instructed him to... but that doesn't mean he hasn't been worried about his nature family.

When he wanders out and finds San near his house, he's pretty relieved. He doesn't really notice her injuries at first, so have him running up with a SAAAN! and throwing his arms around her. ]

[she's still so out of it, she didn't even hear him coming. She hisses and then growls at the hug. But only because it hurts. She likes knowing Cooro's all right, too.]

[ He pulls his arms back quick and holds them up as if he's being held at gunpoint. ]

S-Sorry!

You surprised me.

[Sokka isn't too eager to go out this morning, but having barely got any sleep from all the strange noises last night, he has to do something to keep from just passing out or going mad from being inside. He's barely even half awake as he steps outside and at first doesn't even register San is there. He's so used to seeing things as it is. But he does a double take when she's still there, dressed in that silly costume. He carefully tries calling out for her.]

... San? Is that you?

Yes.

[it's a half-growl. She's in pain and it makes her testy]

[Well that settles that, he's over beside her immediately, looking her up and down.]

... you were in the fog, weren't you?

[Why has everyone asked her that?]

I don't remember. But fog is no reason not to hunt.
