[WOW WHAT AN AMAZINGLY FAMILIAR AND ANNOYING LAUGH
DO YOU EVEN KNOW THE MEANING OF STEALTHY
Terezi's grin immediately fades and she stands up, a little clumsily, feeling very, very vulnerable without her sight. At least it sounds like there's lots of... Trolls? No. People? Humans? Lots of something around.]
[CONGRATS TEREZI you have approached the most awkward quirky person in all of mayfield.]
As long as its not a stupid one. Nothing worse than a stupid question. I like a good question, questions are fun, though, can probably give you a good answer. Best answer in all of Mayfield.
Also, the college ruled tastes much better. Less glue.
[very to the point. she likes this bro already.] Mayfield? Hehehe, that answers one of them! My second question is what is Mayfield?
[She runs her fingers over the spine of the notebook, which is already thoroughly chewed.] I don't know what a college ruled is, but it would probably taste better than this!
Well, that's a complicated question. Mayfield is a human town in the year 1950. Or at least, that's what it's trying to be. What it really is, some kind of anomaly in timespace or a plane that exists in the dimensional rift? A doomed timeline? All are equally possible.
[He yanks a notepad out of his pocket, gives it a sniff and hands it to her.] There you are, dear.
[Terezi accepts it and immediately begins peeling out slivers of paper and eating them, though judging from the look on her face, she's not experiencing anything nice. still, it gives her mouth something to do as she contemplates his words, even if the paper is giving her no visual feedback.]
A human town! I'd guessed as much, hehehe. I didn't think it was possible to be surrounded by so many trolls at once because... [a small pause.] Well, because. [she doesn't want to think about it! except--
wait...]
Doomed timeline?
[that's enough to make the shreds of paper drop right out of her mouth. of course, she thinks, of course they'd go get themselves stuck in another doomed timeline. somehow.
[what the fuck is Gamzee doing at a school who knows he probably got lost
At any rate, he's seen Terezi as a human before, so he knows it's her. But she's been acting kind of weird lately and Karkat said she got panscrubbed, so he's really not sure how to respond. Oh well, when in doubt, just go with the flow.]
From the...? [whatwhatwhat but Gamzee couldn't possibly come back from the dead because he no longer had a dream self and... ugh is this time shenanigans again! the last thing Terezi wants right now is a headache.]
Gamz, why would I be panscrubbed and what exactly does that mean? Although I might be a little. I've forgotten something important, hahaha!
You know, I'm going to ask anyway! Unless you already walked away. Which would make me look pretty stupid right now, and I'd deserve it, since apparently I forgot how to see things.
[Welp. For today, Karkat has taken his turn at the milk. In this case, it happens to have been the special milk.
He knows he wasn't supposed to go wandering off. He doesn't remember who told him not to, but he only just remembered that there was something wrong with him today. He was sick or something. That didn't change the fact that he had to go out and buy more groceries for the family, though, so he'd gone to do exactly that, and then had somehow gotten distracted along the way.
There's a girl on the steps who he knows is Terezi. Terezi isn't here, he knows that, too, but he's seen a lot of things today. It's not really a surprise to him that she's sitting there.
He's trying to focus his mind because he knows there's a reason why he should, but it's a little difficult, so he just walks over, sits next to her, and puts an arm around her shoulders.]
Terezi's already feeling vulnerable about her sightlessness and still utterly confused by the state of things even though she's talked to a few rational people so far, so she reacts in an utterly spooked way. not that it's obvious- she keeps grinning and gives a high, cheerful laugh.]
That's a strange way to answer a question!
[she proceeds to try to shove the arm off, but her movements are clumsy because she can't see what she's reaching for.]
[He isn't really in the right frame of mind to appreciate that he just really skeeved her out, but he'll let his arm be shoved off without any protest.]
It's kind of funny that they'd make your hair like that. It's like they're taking requests, only I don't remember them asking what type of human I wanted to look like. Isn't that weird?
[after patting her assailant's arm back into place Terezi sort of goes still because she knows Karkat's voice. and then she's immediately reaching for that arm again and squeezing it tight as if she thinks that she might be able to squeeze hard enough to smell the blood beneath it and then she'll be able to see again.]
Karkat! I've been trying to get a hold of you for-- ...You're... What are you talking about?
