LOL at this very different sort of cliffhanger. Ennis may just implode by the time Lureen pulls up to his shack with Jack (and Bobby?) How much can an emotionally stunned fella take in 30 hours?

- coming clean with his ex
- hearing his beloved getting beat up
- meeting his beloved's wife
- finding a good chef

Whew! Wears me out and I'm an emotional open-book sort of person!

Looking forward to the next installment/s with the "wives." Maybe they'll get to meet?

I'm just plain evil. Aren't I, Susan. Ha!

Yes, Ennis is going to need a nice long nap after the next few days, but maybe Jack will be able to distract him a bit once he arrives. ;-)

So many possibilities, so little time, but I'll try not to be too rough on Ennis. Promise. Plus, despite all the excitement and stress we know, at least, that Ennis will be eating well with Jim around. That's a good thing because it certainly looks like that reticent cowboy is going to be needing his strength!

Love, Debra.

When Ennis takes a decision he does his work, not matter what. I really felt he has to talk with Alma and clear their relation, after all she has the girls. And he was not wrong about his feeling about Jack being in danger and anoter decision well taken, call to Jack's house and talk to get help for Jack. Glad Lauren and the police arrived on time and that she decided to bring Jack to Ennis. And your Jim is a wonderful character. Thank you so much for sharing. Martha

I am hoping you have not given up on this story. It is one of the best ones on LJ. I have read J & E in so many different situations and I hope this one does get finished. You are a very good writer. I can envision all the scenes.

Thank you for the lovely compliment and for taking the time to let me know what you think. No worries though. I absolutely will finish this story. I'm just taking a bit of a summer break right now, and hope to have something up in August.

Hope to hear from you in the future! Have a great evening. And, thanks again for checking in with me.

Debra.
