just looking for your personal opinion.. on having your significant other's name tattooed on you. in english or japanese or whatever. is it taboo, period? are you ok with it? is there a time and place for it? just curious on what everyone thinks.

in my opinion....never.

I have seen too many people get it, and then break up or something like that.

That and the fact that to me that is like saying "this person owns me and this is the stamp to say so" and I would never do that to myself, or let my significant other do it to themselves.

I think if you love a person enough, they will know it. You don't need it tattooed on your arm

i would never do it. not even if i were married for 10 yrs. theres just way too much of a risk of "what if it doesnt work out" ... then what happens? ya know.

im against it, simply for having done it and regretting it hardcore. Although, im totally FOR representing tattoos. Like, Im getting a tattoo in a few weeks that has a lyric from shayne and I's song, rather than getting his name, this way, if we ever break up, its just a lyric to a song :)

I'd never have the name of a significant other tattooed on me, but to each their own.

Personally, I never would, for the same reason everyone else said. I'm especially against getting them early on in a relationship, because that's when everything seems perfect, and you think you'll be together forever and ever.

I just think that no matter how secure you feel with someone, there's always the chance of breaking up, and then you're stuck with a person's name on your body.
