New Year's Tidings

Ah, first post of the new year. It's got that new-post smell and everything. Well, let's see, celebrated the new year with a bunch of friends on the weekend, and stayed with my sweetie on New Year's Eve/Day. Of course, my chronically sleep-deprived self needed to be shaken awake a couple times so I wouldn't miss the countdown, but still, it was fun ( Read more... )

Oops, sorry, Kals. To trim the entry, I snipped the part about getting some Discworld books as a gift from Aquaman. But yeah, I've been digging the series. Have been reading the Witches books (just up to Maskerade now). I have laughed heartily.

Trusty Bell (I think it's called Eternal Sonata in the US) has a fairly good soundtrack and an out-of-left-field premise. I dunno how the game itself actually is, but you might want to give it a shot.

Hmm, that one did catch my eye on the shelf. I'll read up on some of the online reviews and check it out.

Give me your 360!!

As for a game suggestion, get Bioshock. Really good gameplay and soundtrack.

Sorry, Stewie, this is my new precious. Even the Wii is getting jealous. I found Wiimote-sized bruises on the 360, and I'm a little concerned. >_>

I did snag Bioshock for the PC a few months back, and totally loved it, but my system couldn't run it smoothly. So I'm definitely going to be picking it up for the 360, in order to enjoy all its goodness in the intended framerate.

Download Mass Effect. It's a good game if you can get past the miles of dialog. It's a futuristic RPG-like. Also from the same company, Knights of the Old Republic. GREAT game, yes it's Star Wars.

Oh, and Halo.

Also, cocks.

Halo ? Such heresy. The only enjoyment I ever got out of Halo was Red vs. Blue. :O

I saw the Zero Punctuation review of Mass Effect, and it did seem pretty promising, minus all the talky-talky. I'll try and gank a copy off someone I know to give it a shot.

KoToR had some pretty amazing reviews. Can't believe I forgot about that one. I might snag it, even if Aquaman ends up being the one tethered to the console for hours on end.
