Harry was doing his best to avoid the small children. He didn't have any sweets on him, but fortunately they were more interested in knocking on doors to bother him. There was an irony in there being something alien going on at Halloween, but Harry wasn't really in a position to appreciate it.

What he was in a position to do, though, was to walk straight into the woman coming the other. "Oh, I am sorry," he said, although he frowned at her wrist. He was sure he'd seen something most ordinary people didn't walk around with.

She, unfortunately, hadn't been looking where she was headed. The device blinked and made a noise at her that she wasn't entirely sure it was supposed to make; it hadn't sounded good, that much was for certain.

"No, it's all right," she said absently. The device fell silent, though, a second later. She gave the man an apologetic look, her hand casually falling to her side. "I was just checking something. I don't suppose you know the area, do you?"

Harry made sure not to look at whatever was on her wrist, but he wondered about it nonetheless. "I'm afraid I don't know it very well. But if you tell me what you're looking for I might be able to help."

A beep came from his coat pocket and Harry pulled out what could be a very advanced mobile phone. It had a map on the screen and a red dot that was moving towards them.

"No, no, no, not that way," the Doctor said, suddenly appearing back at her side. He was now wearing what appeared to be a viking helmet. Where it had come from since he left the TARDIS was really a mystery.

He reached over and turned the device around in her hands.

"Like this."

Her heart leapt out of her chest the moment he reappeared. She hadn't expected to see him for a while at least!

"How can you even tell?" she asked, frowning at the device. It really didn't look that much different that way than it did before. Then she turned her gaze up to look at him, and immediately gave him a questioning look. "Run into Leif Garret while you were gone?" It was Garret, wasn't it? The name sounded familiar.

"...check it out," said Indiana Jones, to no one, as he walked by.

Indiana--or rather, Ianto, in a surprisingly faithful costume-- muttered a vague response a few seconds later. One night. He'd tried to spend one night with his sister and the kids, as for some reason this year the estate was attempting to celebrate Halloween with gusto. But of course, of course, nothing was ever that easy, and Jack had phoned him up and called him into the field. He hadn't even had time to change.

Abruptly, and rather accidentally, he caught the eye of a woman in a glittery butterfly costume. He smiled, polite but self-conscious, and then stopped short as the alien activity detector in his pocket beeped.
