yeah, sometimes it hits me and I think, "I don't have many close friends at all, the close friends I've had have fucked me over and changed, and any one of my "friends" could be talking shit and lying."
sometimes it's really hard to rely on anyone but yourself.
I agree with you that no one knows YOU, and it's hard to know yourself because the way you think and the way others perceive your actions could be completely different. also I think it's hard to even say who you think you are because there are almost infinite sides to EVERYONE. and it's one of those things that can't be written on paper or anything.

sorry for the long response. remember I'm here if you need to talk. and I know your whole post is about people not being genuine, but I think you can at least trust me a little since I don't really have connection to any of your other friends.

I hope it can be some small consolation if you think "At least now I'm wiser than I was before...." and more wise than most. Good and honest people are out there. It's just a faded quality. Not often thought of as something you can survive with, if one thought of it at all. Cultural learning really isn't don't much with thought anyway. Our culture has grown a big element of safer from eachother behind a mask and nothing is so important beyond your noticed desires.
