Ron Paul: Minor Nuisance.

Apr 04, 2012 10:13

Ron Paul is getting absolutely annihilated in the campaign. Every cent people have donated to his campaign could have been used for something more productive, like an emergency "bug-out" fund to exfiltrate you and your family from the expanding surveillance-nanny-police-prison state. perhaps you should read this http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/how-the-gop-became-the-party-of-the-rich-20111109

america could get out of its deficit anytime it liked. it would just have to do two things

1. tax people the way america used to tax itself during the reagan are and before
2. cut its military spending budget down to a something more equivalent to other countries such as china or europe

you'll be back in surplus in no time at all - no ron paul cut needed

i don't think so. The US is on the hook for more than $100 Trillion of unfunded liabilities and health care costs are skyrocketing, so social programs will continue to get more expensive.

Nothing short of catastrophic cuts will do anything at this point.

so increase the amount you tax yourself to fund the social programs

if northern europe can do it, so can the US and yes we have a pension overhang to and we are dealing with it by raising the retiremnen age to something more sensible like 75

can you please explain why a millionaire shoule pay less tax proportionally than someone on 30,000 dollars per annum?

Ireland used to be dirt poor in the eighties it boomed in the nineties and the noughties, this is now the reckoning. The key problem in europe is ( ... )

Acknowledging that we are irrevocably screwed, I would still have preferred not to go out still doing the worst possible things given the situation. It would have been nice to actually *try* to do the right things.
