It's amazing how much I've looked forward to this number. Looking at the stickers in the grocery store that show the year one must have been born in to purchase alcohol on that day or before has been a seemingly elongated period in my life. I like the new proverb that you ended this post with. I too can relate to that sense of being treated as a lesser being by my "elders." I have related to adults since I was in elementary school, so being forced to integrate into the children's group has always been a sore subject for me. Just be thankful that your looks are mature. I am afraid that my youthful face is going to force me to get carded well into my late 30s.
