I like the new proverb that you ended this post with. I too can relate to that sense of being treated as a lesser being by my "elders." I have related to adults since I was in elementary school, so being forced to integrate into the children's group has always been a sore subject for me. Just be thankful that your looks are mature. I am afraid that my youthful face is going to force me to get carded well into my late 30s.
