Thanksgiving Prayer

Nov 22, 2007 14:08

Heavenly Father,

We thank you for food and remember the hungry.
We thank you for health and remember the sick.
We thank you for friends and remember the friendless.
We thank you for freedom and remember the enslaved.
May these remembrances stir us to service,
That you gifts to us may be used for others.

Amen.

Can't remember where I stole this from...

This is a good prayer to have! It's always good to see other's prayers because they help us remember to prayer for others and challenge us to format our own personal prayers to ask God to care for those we do not know, knowing that God does know them. It forces us out of the "I" and "me" or "us" and "we" prayers and says a lot about what we really believe about God's providential care and whether or not we believe God is active through all things!
Thanks for sharing this!
