Oh man, that sounds so delicious.

And I totally relate. Cooking is the best thing, especially after a hard work out. Made myself a wok full of vegetable stir-fry and beef bulgogi, with some kimchi that I've had in the fridge for a good month or so.

fjfjfjfjf - It was so good.

And this morning we're having the first meat-y breakfast that I have had IN A LONG TIME. I haven't cooked bacon in well over a year and Leigh is making omlettes with turkey breast. omnomnom.

I am usually so exhausted after work that I end up curling up on the couch but I really need to get in the habit of cooking more substantial meals/eating properly. It really does make that little (or big) bit of difference.

One of our favorite things to cook by the way is actually teriyaki stir-fry rice and veggies. Stir-fry is sooooo excellent.

You probably already know this since you and Leigh seem every bit as resource-pinching as I am, but whenever I cook, I ALWAYS cook stuff that will hold as leftovers for at least 3-5 days. That way I always get the most out of my food purchases, and can now eat at restaurants/fast food when I occasionally want to, rather than because I have to. Saves so much money, and it's so much healthier.

Also, turkey spam? Fucking amazing if you sautee it til it's a bit brown around the edges, then throw it in as a meat compliment to any egg dish.

Oh yeah, we always try to make enough for leftovers. I guess, at least for the two of us, bringing at least somewhat healthy homemade food is an absolute must in order to get through our work day. People who have never worked in an environment where there is a high volume of dogs (or other animals) have NO IDEA - how much energy you need to actually get your tasks done while maintaining a vigilant eye on the animals. I cannot fathom the people who actually manage to make it through their day eating junk food - it's probably why everyone at Leigh's job practically drools over the food he brings in half of the time.

That was a bit of a tangent but YEAH. I agree. It's healthier, saves money, and for us it generally pushes a little creativity with spicing up our poor boy meals.

I have never had turkey spam before. We will definitely have to try cooking that up at some point. :3
