Warnings: None really
Dream Effects: (OPTIONAL) Insecure, nervous but admiration and some conflicting thoughts at the last question
He was nervous. Of course, that could arguably be a huge understatement. Standing up to the two bullies in Luin was bad enough, but trying to thank the man that saved him from a beating? Even harder.
Emil's thoughts were in disarray as he stood, next to a
red haired man. The one that helped him out just earlier...
"... What is it?" The man spoke up, almost sounding a bit annoyed.
The boy fidgeted a little, obviously not knowing what to say. Even if he did, there was also the being scared to speak part that should be noted. Still, the guy didn't make any move to walk away and just looked at him.
"If you've got nothing to say, then I've got something to ask you."
"Uh, okay."
"So they said that your name is Emil," He nodded, feeling a bit better now that the conversation had taken a different turn, "Well, Emil, have you seen a girl around here with a red jewel on her forehead?"
"What? I uh, n-no sir." the blond responded, a bit confused by the question. He never thought that he would ask that. He thought it'd be more on the subject of what happened earlier. His short train of thought was cut off as the man spoke up again.
"What are you so nervous about?"
"I--..."
There was a bit of a long pause as the man stared at him in thought. "Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality."
"... Huh?"
"They're words a human with a few screws loose said long ago," he explained, almost as if reminiscing, "When you refused to swear allegiance to Lloyd, didn't you feel courage welling up inside you?"
The blond boy just continued to stare at the guy next to him. His words slowly ringing true in him, as if he didn't realize it before just now.
"Those who would grovel and beg, or run away at the first sight of another's anger are dogs. Or even worse," he turned to face Emil, "Are you a dog? Or are you really a man?"
"I'm-- uh..." Emil stumbled on his words. It felt that it should be obvious that he should be a man but, to say it out loud?
Still, the guy seemed a bit amused as he chuckled before facing the blond next to him. "Just try to do your best to be a man, Emil."
With that said, turned and walked off. Emil watched as he went until he was out of sight before staring down at the ground, thinking on his words.
"Courage. The magic that turns dreams into reality..."

[Emil woke up a bit slowly as he sat up in his bed looking out the window, oblivious to the Dreamberry that had recorded is dream and was still on]
... I wonder how Richter and Marta are doing.
