So everyone knows about the new series of DVD's that are collections of music videos catagorized by directors right? Well a week or two ago I saw the Spike Jonez dvd, very good, so I went to tower records and looked at the other two. All three have Bjork videos on them. I bought the one by Chris Cunningham

I have the Michel Gondry dvd, but I still need to pick up the others.

When you watch the videos one after another, it's so clear what themes run throughout one directors body of work.

Such as: repetition of images, dream states, etc... Good stuff.

seriously, I was just creeped out that some of my favorite videos are all by the same dudes! I was the same way when I started really learning alot about movies, I realized that alot of my favorite movies were by tim burton and Terry gilliam.

I know what you mean exactly, I've been on such a Tim Burton spree lately. I saw Big Fish, and then I had to go back and rewatch Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands, etc.

I still need to rent Lost In La Mancha, have you heard of it? Terry Gilliam was trying to make a Don Quixote movie with Johnny Depp, and basically everything that could go wrong did, it got so over budget before anything got done that the studio pulled the plug, and they released a documentary using all the footage they had.

Supposedly they're still trying to finish the film. I hope they do, I would love to see what Gilliam could come up with...

It was at the local indy theater for like a milla second when i was on the outs with my indy movie buddy, so I didn't get to see it. I really hope that gets made eventually. Didn't one of the producers die from illness on the set too?
