Character Name: Sif
Canon source: Marvel 616

Personality: Born a goddess and forged a warrior. Sif is many things, but those two stand first and foremost above all else.

Goddess, in that Asgard is her home. Sif prefers the majesty of Asgard over Earth and places her identity as a goddess over any attempts at living a normal, mortal life. While situations may require her to adopt a secret identity it is never something she desires to keep for long - it is, to her, just a farce that she despises. Asgard has her loyalty, she believes in its ability to survive and will serve it until she dies. Thor, too, holds much of her loyalty that isn't held by Asgard, and on many occasions trumping her devotion to their city.

But beyond her loyalty, Sif is proud. Proud of being a goddess, proud of her combat skills - she carries herself so that it's evident. She doesn't take slights to her character lightly, or any insults at all really; she's quick to lash out should she feel it's required. And yet Sif remains a voice of reason when even-tempered, more rational than those around her (though this isn't a hard thing considering her company). Her approach to others is the same - respectful and distantly courteous.

Warrior, in that she fights. With weapons or in spirit, Sif refuses to give up or give in if there's a glimmer of hope to be had. She will do everything in her power to continue and win whatever fight she's facing, even if it's hopeless (including forgoing modesty for her blade). In the same vein she is unforgiving of those who she battles, or who insult her. The fact that she's a capable warrior goes without saying, and her confidence with any blade she can get her hands on is evident - making her a force to be reckoned with no matter what field of combat she's met on.

Sif's focus on her skills as a warrior leaves her vulnerable to feeling powerless when all options are taken away from her. As she's unused to actual situations where this holds true it does quite a number on her, throwing her off balance. This uneasiness continues to stick around for much longer than the incident itself until she can reaffirm herself as someone who isn't weak and helpless.

It should be mentioned that she's not a complete bastion of ruthlessness - her affections are not easily won, true, but she does have close friends who she cares for and worries about. The distinction is that she rarely allows her worry to interfere with combat and the mission at hand; focusing it into action to defend those she loves.

History: Here; post Siege.

Strengths: The general mantra of superhuman abilities - strength ( lifting about 30 tons ), speed, stamina ( peak capacity for 24 hours straight before she starts feeling tired ), durability, longevity, and regenerative healing. Sif is also well versed in combat with cold weaponry, second strongest out of Asgardian women. Or you could just see the history link for a larger established powers/abilities list that isn't paraphrased.

Weaknesses: Her healing powers max out at not being able to regrow limbs or organs and she does become tired and fatigued with strenuous amounts of activity for long periods of time. Yet her greatest weakness is the legacy of Loki's use of her body; while mostly dispelled at this point in time Sif still views the violation of her body and spirit with distaste and any action made that could be conceived as such would raise her anger and her insecurities and compromise her fighting ability.
