So,
I want to listen to some music right now but if I do I will probably hear a song I really like and listen to it five times before going to bed.
I went to Boston this past weekend, and stayed 'till Sunday, despite having no band practices (Evan was in Chicago) to dread Andrew's hair. Friday was John's birthday, and we went out to dinner. Phoebe came late, and I saved her a seat. She acts a little bit more silly than I knew, but is still fun to be around. On the way back I had my hand in my pocket and she put her arm around mine for a bit. We watched a movie. Next day she came back to help dread Andrew's hair. (I was originally selected to do this myself, but Andrew later recruited her because she is female and thus supposedly possesses superior hair-management skills.) We watched some X-Files, and Phoebe rested her head on my shoulder several times. At some point she also apparently started to try to play footsie with me, to which I didn't respond, other than to give her a slightly quizzical and amused "are you doing what I think you're doing?" look. I don't think anyone has sincerely tried to do that with me before. At some point, probably after that, I threatened to put dread wax on Phoebe's face, and she argued that because she has bad skin that is off-limits. So, seeing as how her armpits were already a subject of conversation (she decided twice to put on deodorant randomly, over the two days) I decided that was a good place to put it. This ended with her falling off of the couch and onto the floor, and was over all a lot of fun. I did a better job dreading Andrew's hair.
Phoebe told me online last night that she likes me and thinks I'm a great guy. DUHN DUHN DUHNNNNNNNN. But the more we talk the more I'm convinced she is not the lady for me, though a fun friend to have, so I reiterated what I'd said previously, that while I think it's unlikely that I marry any lady I know right now, the chances are better with another lady I know that is not her. (That lady is Maddy... I think I've said that before.) And Phoebe is okay with that. I'm really tired now, and not thinking of other things relevant to the situation to say. Maddy was busy all weekend as she is the music director at a church outside Boston, so between Good Friday service and practices for Easter, she was busy.
The friend that I was maybe going to move in with decided she doesn't want a roommate, which is okay with me. I can probably sublet a friend's room (either Andrew's or another friend, Ryan) when they go home for the summer. Renting Ryan's room might be cooler, as I believe his roommate will be here through the summer, and he's a cool guy. We'll see.
I proposed my band name idea to Andrew, and he liked it. I think Evan will too. Don't ask what it is yet. Actually, it's apparently been taken twice, one of those times with "The" in front. So maybe that won't work. Thanks wikipedia for telling me what the rest of the internet failed to. I had other ideas, but in the context of my story, this was the most awesome.
My story is coming along well. I'm really enjoying it and liking the way it is evolving.
The week before last, during our practices, we had our first session of co-developing a song I'd written. It started with Evan and I taking turns elaborating on the guitar part, then Andrew started playing piano and came up with some really sweet stuff, and Evan switched to drums which was cool. He has a much different flavor of playing from Andrew.
