Building a path

Sometime after we moved in, they paved our walk. In the middle of the walk was a drain. The walk sank and the drain was floating above the path and was less than useful. We also have a low point in our driveway, so I decided the best way to remedy this was to get someone to dig up the asphault walk and for me to dig out the drain, replace it with a ( Read more... )

Ooh, that does look nice.

Our patio was done with polymeric sand, and it's been.... ok. But there are a lot of different kinds, and it's quite likely that the person who did ours didn't pick a good one.

Mostly, the ants chew through it with abandon. Our patio has dozens and dozens of little anthills made out of polymeric sand debris. This is probably not great for the long-term stability or weed resistance of the stuff.
