G is trying out a purple mattress right now. We've decided that instead of a king, we're going to try two twinXL mattresses and that way we can each find what works best for us. Buying mattresses is up there on my top list of things I hate doing. I find it even more annoying than car shopping.

I'm intrigued by the whole explosion of compressed internet mattress sales, since our current bed is a solid latex mattress and we've been mostly happy with it (but it's starting to show its age). They all offer extended tests and money-back guarantees, but the ingrained social bargaining part of my brain doesn't want to have to take them up on the offer....
