mead update

I emailed Julio's liquor and got the following response:

Unfortunately, Moniack Mead is not available through our distributors in Massachusetts. I did some digging and could not find any information about Moniack’s availability in the rest of the u.s. either. Bummer. From the hobby perspective, have you ever considered brewing mead? My understanding is that it's one of the easiest fermented products to brew. I think proven used to make mead and cyser? At least, I think I had some of his at jcb's cider parties.

The problem is I don't want just mead. I want GOOOOD mead, and I'm pretty sure I can't do that when commercial products in the US just don't compare to this stuff from the UK.

Ah. I think I am under-experienced in good mead. I'll have to investigate UK mead when I am next in Canada (and will bring a bottle back should I remember).

Keep in mind it is sweet, so if you don't like sweet drinks, it won't be for you. Moniack mead is the stuff I've been raving about. Hope I haven't over sold it.
