Brotherly, part one

Part one
Eyes closed, he listened to the movement inside the hotel room, head tilted a little as he caught every nuance and inflection that made up the affectionate voice. It was just a little different, just a little more innocent. It was the sound of the person who the voice rightfully belonged to. He hated the sound of that voice.
Turning his head and opening his eyes, he tugged the window that last little bit shut as the long haired blond moved out of the room where he’d been standing by his sleeping brother. He’d almost gotten caught this time. He’d lingered too long and the brat had nearly walked right in on him. He didn’t want the game to end that way.
Was it still a game though?
Jumping off the windowsill, the sin landed lithely on the street below, jaw locked as he flawlessly changed forms to another, one less obvious than that of the Fullmetal Alchemist. He didn’t like the direction his thoughts were headed tonight. Of course it was a game. It was just an excersize, a way to see just how well he could impersonate the pest while getting a little fun out of the deal.
Somewhere along the line though, over the course of the last year, something had changed. It had to have been after the brat got his brother the body. That was when he’d stepped up the game after all, so it had to be when he’d started to view things a little differently.
He was just upset he was second best again, even though the armored, well, not so armored now, brat didn’t know he was doing it. He played the pest perfectly, whether it was being him or taunting him made no difference.
And given just a little more time… Then the little pain in the ass would be out of the way for good, and he wouldn’t have to worry about being second best anymore.
