MSD is Mount Sinai Difficulty. It’s one of the most common difficulties humans have with Judaism. Some events, even if recorded by a thousand cameras and broadcast worldwide, are just too extraordinary to accept. It took years for the world to accept that the Wright Brothers were flying in the air, even after trainloads of people had witnessed it.

I ask because my opinion from studying the Scriptures is that you start counting on the first first day of the week after the first Shabbat in the Feast of Unleavened Bread (aka "The Feast of First Fruits" and the day Messiah rose), making Shavuot always on a Sunday (well, Saturday night to Sunday night). We celebrated Sunday afternoon.

I have not fully studied about counting the omer and which day to keep Shavuot. all the local congregations do it then, so I have not been taught otherwise. I am respectful of both attempts to observe this
G-d mandated Holy day.
