Simon was having a weird day. Every day in Fandom was weird, to some extent, he'd already noticed that, but this one was a little weirder than average. Ramona's voice was quiet, as she leaned in the doorway, fresh from Nathan's funeral. And sure, this would just confuse another Simon, maybe, but she wasn't thinking her clearest. "You -- another you, anyway -- were there."

'Hello' was for other people.

Simon wasn't confused, though. He jumped a bit, startled by her voice. Then he was quiet, for as long as it took to pause the movie and slowly turn around in his chair, to see her.

The apologetic, slightly worried look on his face was sincere. "I'm sorry I couldn't tell you."

I'm sorry I can't tell you everything now, either.

"Why not?" Ramona asked, hands in her pockets. "I mean, what would it have hurt? Did you know I was talking about Nathan the other day? He's already dead for you, isn't he?"

"I wasn't sure it was him," Simon replied calmly, almost deliberately so. "You never said his name."

As for that other thing... Yes, he was going to lie. He was just going to try and lie as little as possible.
