Simon hadn't really unpacked his things after they'd moved back from the campgrounds. No point. He'd made up his mind: it was time to go. Back to England, back to Alisha. Back to Nathan and Kelly and Curtis, and whatever lay in his future.

Of course Mercy was coming to say goodbye!

Much as she hated to.

She was downstairs only moments after getting it. Okay, that was a lie. She'd had to take a couple of minutes to brace herself - she knew a little bit about what would happen when he returned after all.

Then she quickly made her way down and knocked casually on the door jamb.

Simon looked back towards the door when he heard the knock, and smiled - though it was brief and faint - as he saw who it was.

Mercy was almost managing a smile. That had to count for something, right?

"It's time," he confirmed with a nod that was... almost solemn, as much as he tried for it not to be. "It's almost Christmas, in England. It's a good time."

[SP is allllways good with me!]

"Yes," Simon nodded, after a glance over at her. Was he sure he had to leave? Definitely. That he wanted to leave? Less so.

But that wouldn't stop him. "I've been here over a year. It's... It's time to go back."

"You're needed back in your world, huh?" Cassie could understand that.

She picked at the knees of her jeans.

"I'm going to miss you. You've been a nice roommate and good guy."

Simon's lips twitched into a smile. "So have you," he said. "I mean, a nice roommate, and... girl."
