Yesterday evening I watched a movie that I had recorded on the DVR. It was entitled The Heart of Me and starred Helena Bonham Carter in a period piece (1930's). It's supposed to hit between 100 and 104 tomorrow and the humidity will bring the heat index towards 114, or so they say.

Fortunately it will be for only one day. And, go figure, the high on Tuesday or or so should be about 74.

Chicago can have some very strange weather.

I woke up early this morning. Earlier than I had intended that is. As I was awake it seemed reasonable enough to get my ass out of bed and do something. This past Saturday I had the pleasure and privelege of partaking in an event unlike any other I have ever experienced before. The Chicago Fire football (soccer to most anyone else who ever comes across this diatribe) team had a match against the Columbus (OH) Crew. A quiet week. The wife gone Sunday through early Thursday morning...off working at the new job. We collected my now-repaired car from the body shop in Sheboygan! We gave it the go-over and found nothing wrong. We took it for a test drive and found nothing wrong. It performed just fine on the 3+ hour drive home. So far a smashing success ( Read more... )
