Three weeks later, my ankle is still giving me grief. It is my own fault. Just as it starts to feel good again, I push it and run. Then I’m back to square one. I’m finally attempting to have a doctor look at it by requesting an appointment at a place called The Running Institute ( Read more... )

Pretty hilarious, huh? The funny thing is that I THINK I either read something or watched something about a marathon in which people ran dressed as gorillas. Or maybe I dreamed that I read it...

Either way, that little tidbit apparently got embedded in my subconscious.

Don't worry about pace. Just run until you can keep doing it for a long period of time. This pacing thing is only on my mind because I HAVE to maintain a 16 minute mile for the duration of the run, which sounds generous until I get to, oh, the 7th mile...

I'm using Nike+ GPS. It's not free. I think it's $1.99, but they have different "courses" you can time. For me, I primarily use the distance running, which will measure my distance with voice cues. But you can do time trials as well.
