Life is full of constant reminders. Today's reminder is to change your passwords regularly and protect said passwords. smittymoo's WoW account got hacked and much of his stuff sold off.

That really is disappointing. Do you think it was bad password security though as opposed to spyware or brute force (dictionary) style attack?

And feel free to not comment here. I do wonder how some people's account's get hacked when their users swear good security was used.

Trust me, his password was a pretty strong combination of case and numbers. (shrug) We don't know how it happened. Hackers can be pretty good at their game. He's trying to report it now to see if he's got any options.

Much with the suckage. I don't play WoW so I can't understand why someone would bother hacking in and such - what's the point? Then again I don't understand why someone would bother hacking into my email, unless they have insomnia.

Hey! They sold a lot of the stuff his characters had gained in the game. Some of the characters were completely stripped, others just had items missing. Guess they feel it's easier to steal it from someone else than get it in the process of playing a game...

I'm glad you guys made it and hope to see you again next time you're in the area!
