"New intermediary function acknowledged"? I'm assuming this means our new "warden" is the Indigeo itself.

I'm not sure what that means in the long run. Any thoughts?

It talks like a child. It's still in the process of learning, but should it try to emulate the Warden...

Well who knows what may happen, since a child's logic when attempting to copy an adult's is often haphazard.

That's a discomforting thought. Then again, you have a sort of frightening point. And having an artificial intelligence in charge of living creatures doesn't end well. XANA comes to mind.

Maybe, maybe not. This is a place of possibility and probability, if it attempts to emulate the warden it may be mostly harmless. By now it should know what we require to stay alive, so like a child it may attempt to overachieve in giving us things, or not.

The best I suppose is to try and help it without making it feel like a tool. It has a mind of it's own, it should be encouraged to be a benevolent being.

Agreed. If we treat it like a tool, it'll eventually take action against us. We're already supposed to fight one enemy, so why create another?

I'm fairly sure that 'intermediary' is a reference to the Warden. If Indigeo is acknowledging that as a new function, then your assumption is safe. However, not knowing what the Warden was, there is the possibility that they've assigned a new Warden.

I was always under the impression that the Warden was a living being like the rest of us. Are you saying that the Warden was possibly an AI?

It's definitely possible. The new girl, Ed... she's a very good hacker. I remember the last version of her that was here. She might be able to communicate with Indigeo and ask what's going on in a way we can't.

It could be a form of artificial intelligence that we haven't run into until now. And a rather simple one at that though as it gains new experiences, that could change.

The Warden took care of it?

Hmm...an AI still learning has the potential to cause some real trouble if an eye isn't kept on it. XANA comes to mind.

Can you tell me anything more? Maybe about what happened? It could give us a better clue as to what the Indigeo is. All I know is that it seemed to be a requisition computer which barely seems to scratch the surface of the older group's knowledge.
