One intimidating aspect of parenting is that you really get only a single chance to do everything right (two at most), and if you don't get it right, you've failed. This sums it up perfectly! I have a hard part with the second bit: seeing my failures and believing myself to be a success. Of course, I haven't taken my kids to see race cars.
