Ansel Showing Big Brother Maturity.
Ansel was doing his "quiet time" yesterday, which is either an episode of Dora the Explorer, or a nap - he chooses, and invariably chooses not to nap. Regardless. As long as Julie is on maternity leave, I will be driving Ansel to daycare on the west side of Ann Arbor, then turning back to drive to Detroit. A bit of a drag, but I'm glad to be doing something to help with the parenting, besides standing there helplessly. When I was sitting in the dentist's chair yesterday, it started to drizzle and then rain a bit. Outside was the "S", duly getting wet; someone told someone, and I ended up running out to close the roof. It's always handy that everybody knows who's driving "the convertible."

In the post-Amalia era, I will be driving Ansel to preschool on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; this will last for another five months or so. I put the top up for him, so three times a week, I will be lowering my top outside. Not a big deal right now, but I'm a little worried about the extremely cold days of winter. The other day, I said "what the hell" within earshot of Ansel, and he immediately picked up on it: "What the het," he said. He's been saying that ever since. What the het! (Or, possible, what the hut. It's hard to tell.) -
