Ok, well. A. Thank you for giving me something to do on my boring-ass day off. B. UUUGH now I want to go to Hawaii. Or at least back to Orlando. Did you know I worked at Disney World for like 5 years? I hated it, but I still miss it a lot sometimes. And Orlando totally does have a nightlight, just not one that the tourists ever see. There's a huge strip of bars in downtown Orlando that includes one of my favorite places ever, this indie bar that plays different kinds of music different nights of the week. They have like 80s night and Motown night and indie music night... It's one of the only things I miss from Orlando. But yes, I am longing for somewhere warm with beaches and neato birds and greenery... somewhere that isn't currently on fire, you know. C. I'm kind of impressed that you can make me relate to Stan so much. Despite the fact that I've got a lot in common with his character, I've never really felt any connection to him, and frankly, I've never really been interested in him in any way, outside of his relationship to Kyle. YES I-BAR! How do you not love I-Bar? Oh man, I really miss the cute, red-headed bartender lady who always remembered my drink. And the vegan hot dog stand across the street. And Grits and Gravy was my favorite night of the week, cause I loooove Motown and it's awesome to go to a bar and drink and dance to music most people don't know. I live in Colorado now, and there's nothing even remotely like that, here. Sad.

Thank you! Yeah, I wanted there to be a mix of frustrations and actual, like, vacationy bliss. I'm glad you liked neurotic parent Stan - I think fatherhood would bring that out in him, while it would actually mellow Kyle somehow. Like, Kyle feels a sense of accomplishment for creating these little people, and Stan is panicked with the urge to protect them constantly.

I'm glad you liked their relationship in this, and yeah, it's CANON that they would be awesome parents together, okay -- their egg was VERY HAPPY! And yeah, Stan definitely knows when to disengage or flatter. So happy you enjoyed this, thanks for reading and for the comment!

Okay, yeah, this was really amazing. I have so many feelings about this that I really don't even think I can express them coherently.

Just that I need to go on vacation with my girlfriend like. Now.

you're awesome :3

How did you make that so good?! I just spent the day reading about a happy family on vacation. Do you know where I am right now? In Brasil. On a fucking vacation. That's how good this is. Seriously, this gave me so many feels. Stan and Kyle as parents is like my favorite thing ever thanks to you. And I love all the detail and history you put into your writing. You could cut out all of the random tidbits of information and make this like half as long, but those random things create this universe with these characters who have all this history and it's really fucking good writing. But that's what I've come to expect from you. I love this. I love you.

Thank you so much for this comment -- this makes me so happy, and that you read this on vacation is the best thing ever, because, like, I can't let go of fandom on vacation, ever, and that's what inspired this story -- I was in Hawaii and I was imagining what Stan and Kyle might be doing there with their kids. :D

I'm really interested in the idea of them as older people in general, because they've known each other for SO LONG and it seems like a big deal when they're 18, so when they're 40 maybe they're both over the novelty of it but that much more proud of how strong their relationship is, etc.

I'm glad you liked all the details - I figured with something like this I might as well just let myself go wild. :)

Now I need a break from family fic, because I've been writing a lot of it lately, but I really enjoyed working on this one and I'm so glad you liked it -- thanks so much for reading. More fics to come!

I meant to read this a while back and I finally got around to it. I wouldn't allow myself to do anything before finishing this. I really, really loved it! I needed a long fic to keep me occupied. I love their background and their personalities, it was very realistic and you hit Stan and Kyle spot on. I have to thank you for writing this. :)
