Okay. Push the button, and... Nothing happens. No, still nothing. Is it broken? Did I break it? I must have broken it. ( Read more... )

Takes too long to write a note, you see. Having quicker communication is essential.

The archdemon?

It isn't when you can't figure out how to use the blasted thing.

Yes, it's responsible for the Blight. If it's killed, the Blight will recede.

Majority knows how to use it, however. So sucks for you.

... Blight. No.

So I'm told. Over and over again.

Everyone says that in the beginning. No, it couldn't be a Blight. And then the darkspawn spread over half the country, and suddenly, wouldn't you know it, there's a Blight.

It's working.

I'm Riqis. I'm a guard for the Sanctuary here.

What's a Grey Warden?

Sanctuary? Is that the religious order here?

A warrior dedicated to the eradication of darkspawn.

No, it's the place that Zelda keeps safe and warded, and the apartments close by that are also under her protection.

Oh. Darkspawn? So...like a keybearer. Have you met Sora here yet?

Zelda? A mage, then, if she can cast wards?

It's what we call them in Ferelden. Perhaps not here. Keybearer? I'm not familiar with that word. Or Sora. I've not met many people yet.

What exactly is a blight? Besides being colder than usual, this seems like the usual day for the town.

It's when an archdemons leads darkspawn to an attack on the surface.

I've never seen or heard of anything like that.

[So, so amused at you, Alistair. 8|]

Archdemon, you say.

Yes, there's one behind every Blight.

Is there.

Yes. It wouldn't be a Blight if there wasn't.

One of the Old Gods corrupted by the Taint. Something has to lead these creatures, doesn't it? Something that unites them, directs them into being something other than mindless monsters.

Eh? Old Gods? Ain't no such thing as gods.

Well, they're not really gods. At least, I don't think they're gods. They're dragons. High dragons, very old and very mortal.
