Xander's favorite room, the spartan gallery where they tortured Spike, has a new addition -- a tall aquarium tank that houses a bonsai tree, some vines, and some artfully arranged rocks (several of which are heated). There's also a small pool of water at the bottom, extending deep into the layers of rich earth supporting the tree. A tiny hole is

Willow kneels in front of the tank, waiting, as still as only the undead (or a statue) can be.

When the snake makes an appearance, she smiles, and waggles a red and black painted fingernail at it.

"Pretty."

Xander reaches into the small cage and lifts out a struggling baby mouse by the tail.

"And fierce." He wanders over to Willow, setting the mouse swinging slightly from his fingers like a penduluum. The snake, already attracted by the brightly colored fingernail, moves sinuously to the side of the aquarium and stares out. Offering the mouse to Willow, he clicks his tongue softly at the snake.

"Mmm. That's the best kind of pretty."

She takes the mouse, cupping it in one hand, and scratching lightly between it's ears with the other, cooing to it. Then she stands, slides open the top of the aquarium and drops it in by the tail. She pushes the cover back on before she kneels back down to watch, eyes sparkling.
