I'm generally not scared of bugs. Cicadas, though? They freak me out.

i've been known to leave my boyfriend's place and walk home in the middle of the night because there was a flying cockroach in the apartment somewhere. I don't kill bugs either, but that doesn't mean I'm comfortable sharing my space with large, flying things. I hope the cats do their job. if not, if you happen to see it in a room with an exit door and an outdoor porch light, maybe you could persuade it to leave by turning out the inside lights, leaving the outdoor light on and shooing it out the door.

A FLYING cockroach?? Good lord. Ohio has some scary ass bugs - more than in Maine.

Don't cicadas only live for 24 hours or something after they molt? I fear it's now dead in my house somewhere . . .

I googled it and found and article that said they live four to six weeks in their adult form.

I'm in Ohio. ;-) I don't think they have them in Canada - too far north. We didn't really have them in Maine either.

I do love the noises they make! Both cats and my dog pretty much love any bug they can hunt down and eat!

OMGZ. I googled weta bugs. They look like HORRIFYING grasshoppers!

...they're bugs. They're little. ;___;

(Please note that you're talking to the woman who has held a giant tarantula in her hands once already. Bugs only scare me if they manage to surprise me. >.>)

I love cicadas! I love their song! And yes, the cats will find him first!
