The Haps

So it is the end of summer quarter at UW, and, seeing as I've not made a substantial update in several months, this seemed like a good time to fill y'all in on what is happening in my life.

I will be on the east side of the Cascades as of the evening of Sunday August 26 and will be leaving for Seattle again on September 8. I would love to see you if you're free at any point during those two weeks, whether you want to go canoeing on the Little Spokane, head up to Greenbluff to pick peaches, or just float around in the pool. I am cool with any of those things and probably also some other things. Other things like frisbee or kickin' it old school. I hope to see you soon.

Since the beginning of June, I have been dating this really super wonderful girl named Mallory. She smart and funny and nice and super cute too. But don't just take my highly biased word for it; search Google for "smart, funny and nice" and you'll see that she is, according to the infallible Googlebot, the paragon of those qualities. And she likes me. How flattering. She was going to come to Spokane with me this time, but between a family vacation and recruitment that didn't quite work out. Perhaps you will get to meet her some other time.

This quarter I took three classes.
  • Botany was fun. I now know more about the plant families of the PNW than I ever really cared to know. I can no longer take a walk outside without stopping to identify flowers. I think I might have a problem.
  • Inorganic chemistry was meh. There were interesting moments, but I definitely didn't put in as much effort as I could have. Why is this my major?
  • Physical chemistry was the devil. The worst parts of physics plus the least interesting/applicable parts of chemistry plus integral calculus plus crazy not-covered-in-book-or-lecture homework equal I am probably going to have to retake this one. Yeah.
Oh summer school, I will never partake of you again.

Then there are work and apartment hunting. I'm living with Pedro next year but we don't know where yet. Finding something is my project for next week. If you are interested in my job, I'll tell you about it if you ask (I'll also tell you there is something terribly wrong with you. Waiting tables at a racist, elitist tennis club is just not that interesting).

Pi love,
Greg
