Is it silly to feel sentimental about an alarm clock?

The alarm clock that I've had since high school has moved with me everywhere I've ever lived. It is the only thing that I own now that I owned then. It has done a wonderful job of making sure that I was awake for about 15 years, but now it has suddenly developed a problem: when the switch is set

I don't think it's silly. But then, this is one of the reasons I have too much stuff... Still, I think an object that has performed reliably is worthy of fondness.
