November 24 (Thursday) ~ At the local park (2:02 p.m.)
It was nice to have a holiday every once in awhile, not having to be in school for the day Kira thought of sleeping in and just relaxing. His mother had other ideas as she woke him up and kicked him out.
She didn't want him 'stealing' money out of her wallet as she spent the morning sleeping in. She had to work that night at her cleaning job so she wanted to be awake for it. It wasn't often his mother Ayumi got to rest and as much as she made him miserable he consented, not that he had much choice in the matter.
They weren't doing anything for the holiday anyway, they never usually did, so Kira wondered the streets looking for anything open for him to keep himself occupied. Of course he had little luck and with a sigh he turned and headed for the park instead.
Kira had grabbed his art bag before he left so he could just practice his drawing a bit, or maybe even start his term project that was going to be due soon. His inspiration was leaving him and between work and his investigation with Natsumi he had little time. When he did have time he couldn't make sense of his work after getting a little loopy on his pills and a bottle of alcohol, or any other drugs he happened to have on him.
Being sober and with too much time on his hand would give him the opportunity to try and get that inspiration back. He took a bench and pulled out his sketchbook. Kira then began to draw anything in sight, plants, trees, animals, and a few people that wondered by and stayed long enough for him to do draw somewhat of a decent quickie.
Still he couldn't decide on what he should draw. As he pulled his coat on closer to block the chill he slightly wished he had brought more then just his pencils as the urge to color and shade came apparent. Maybe some crappy still life would get him through it with at least a passing grade, because at the moment that's all he could do.
