Entry 10

Sep 20, 2007 22:35

The weather calmed down today, so I was able to finish up in my office. The cage is still a wreck, and will need special attention. I'll give bonus points to anyone who'll help me clean it up. I'll let you play with the light board!

But there are more important things! We're going to have to put on some sort of production at the end of the semester ( Read more... )

What's a cage, teach?

A cage is a place where all the costumes and things like that are kept. That fenced-in metal place back stage is the cage. It needs organized desperately.

Oh, right! I remember that spot, it was a mess.

I don't know much about plays, though. This is my first time taking drama... People are always saying how loud I am, so I guessed it would be a good fit, heheh.

It must've been neglected before we came along.

Being loud is an admirable trait in an actor. If you're loud enough that you don't have to mic you, I'll let you play with the light board.

No offense, but I honestly have no idea how I got signed up for your course. Never thought I'd be taking a drama class...oh well...

I have to ask though, what's the cage? Is it a prop? I'll consider helping out if it means learning how to use the lightboard. Anything technological makes my day.

Hmmm...plays...our school put on a play once called "Any Number Can Die" or something like that. It was a murder mystery/comedy.

It can't be that bad.

The cage is that... cage backstage, with all the costumes in it. It looks more like a car accident as of right now. If you help clean it, you can play with the soundboard, too.

I've heard of that. It was a parody of old mystery plays, I think...

You have to understand Mr. Wright, back at home I was the President of the Computer Club...not exactly drama material. I can't even lie well.

Ah, yes, that...thing. Hmm...I'll consider.

I'm not sure if it was or not, all I remember was that everyone killed each other and that it was an extremely amusing play.

Oh, I can teach you how to lie. I am a lawyer.

I actually think I might've seen it, but if I did it was the night after a cast party and I slept through most of it.

Can the play be a musical? Nodame has never done a play before~

[totally not even a student, but she'd try anyways]

I really know nothing about musicals. I'd have to split my directing duties. I'm not even sure if the kids can sing...

Um, are you actually in my class?

Nodame has seen lots of musicals where the people couldn't sing, but it was still fun, 'cause the kids had fun doing it!

*lots of random scribbles and scratched out bits* Houu...not really. Nodame is a kindergarten and music teacher. Nodame just thought it would be fun to do a play

Haha, I'm not sure how good I'd be at directing a musical. It's so... different from a regular play.

Oh, so you're my colleague? Sorry, I'm not very familiar with everyone yet. I'm Phoenix Wright. It's a pleasure to meet you.

The classes here are pretty small, so I might need some people outside the class in the actual play... If you'd be willing to make practices, you could probably be in.

How about we do something with loads of talking and give the burnt-face guy the main part?

Can he speak in iambic pentameter?

ore_wa_honoo September 21 2007, 18:03:49 UTC
He wha--? Well, haven't seen him talk that much normally, but he could do!

Iambic pentameter. Ten syllables a line, every second one stressed. So you get something like... "In sooth I know not why I am so sad." It'll be easier to understand in class.

I'm not sure if Zuko would appreciate a large role...

I have to do this OOC cause Koushirou would never suggest it.

either a) Angels in America or b) Reefer Madness

these be my personal suggestions. Any Number Can Die is really good too though.
