Only movies/tv shows I watched and books I read for the first time are included.
The reviews are basically for my own amusement.
1. Blood Diamond (07.01.09) 5/5
Amaaaaazing. I loved it. Heartbreaking and real and gosh, I love you, Leo DiCap.
2. Can't Buy Me Love (07.01.09) 2/5
... uhhh? This was maybe the corniest thing I have ever seen. Lolol young Patrick Dempsey.
3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (09.01.09) 4/5
This was really delightful. The man-child was scarily realistic, but Brad Pitt got HOT. The middle scenes were absolutely adorable :D And the storyline is fascinating.
4. Once (09.01.09) 2/5
Good singing, but it never stopped.
5. Land of the Dead (09.01.09) 0/5
I don't think I've ever been bored to sleep by a zombie movie before, but that's what happened here.
6. Zoolander (13.01.09) 3/5
I do believe I am the only person ever who hadn't seen this. Every time he said "good-looking" I cracked up, I don't know why. Great satire, but rather silly.
7. The Other Boleyn Girl (24.01.09) 3/5
Uhhh, I don't know. This was really disturbing, yet still good.
8. Octopussy (24.01.09) 1/5
Unintentionally hilarious.
9. Sometimes They Come Back (26.01.09) 0/5
... I don't even know what to say about this, but LOL ZOMBIE FACES.
10. Brick (27.01.09) 1/5
I've been recommended this so many times, but WHAT. Nina and I actually said quite a few times "are they actually speaking English?" I couldn't understand a single solitary thing that happened. Even after the ~revelation scene, I didn't understand what had actually been revealed. One star for cinematography, which was gorgeous.
11. Baby Mama (28.01.09) 3/5
Lmfaooo, pretty hilarious. When she said "I feel like I'm shitting a knife", I died of lol. The ending was ridiculously corny though, idek.
12. Iron Man (28.01.09) 5/5
:D :D :D Fucking awesome, and somehow very relevant to today's world. And Tony/Pepper were adorable. I ship it.
13. Notes on a Scandal (30.01.09) 2/5
THIS WAS HORRIFYING. I literally yelled "what the fuck are you doing?!" a hundred thousand times. Too much twistedness and evil in one movie. Judi Dench was almost too good. It was actually hard for me to sit through it.
14. Victor/Victoria (01.02.09) 4/5
I love really funny old movies. This was pretty delightful, actually, and Julie Andrews astounds me. Except she looked/sounded nothing like a man in her disguise, but oh well. I could overlook it.
15. Annie Leibovitz: Life Through a Lens (05.02.09) 4/5
This was really interesting. I didn't realise she took some of the iconic images (the Demi Moore one for example). I love some of the earlier photos she took, where she just captured these amazing moments in time.
16. Zombie Nation (11.02.09) 0/5
I think this gets the prestigous award of being the worst movie I have ever seen. The sets were all in a warehouse, there was incredibly fake (yet rank!) flesh-eating, zombies that looked like crack whores, old naked men having their butts whipped, naked breasts interspersed into random scenes, and pretty much no conclusion (or plot in general). Nina and I were honestly lost for words afterwards.
17. He's Just Not That Into You (12.02.09) 2/5
I covered my eyes in this movie almost as much as I would in a horror movie, because some scenes were so incredibly awkward I could barely watch them. Ginnifer and Justin were SO CUTE, Jen and Ben (lolol) were adorable, the rest were just awful or pointless.
18. Pineapple Express (13.02.09) 4/5
Thiiiiis was absolutely hilarious, not gonna lie.
19. The Invasion (13.02.09) 2/5
I think the idea could have been good? But OH GOSH the way the virus was transmitted (ie, vomiting onto each others faces). I LOLED. I also laughed when Nicole Kidman hit a guy over the head with a fire extinguisher and then sort of growled/screamed at his body, lmfaooo.
20. P.S. I Love You (15.02.09) 4/5
I actually felt like crying for the majority of this, either because I'm over-emotional for some reason, or I'm just a sap. Anyway, this was so so cute, Lisa Kudrow is just my favourite, and I really want to have sex with Gerard Butler.
21. Yentl (15.02.09) 2/5
Lol at all the woman-dressed-as-man movies I've been watching lately.
22. I Am Legend (16.02.09) 2/5
This was really well done (I don't how they did that empty-city thing, but it was very effective). Buuuut I don't know, there was something that I did not like about it at all. Plus, the zombies? or whatever they were looked ridic.
23. Australia (17.02.09) 4/5
I am still drooling over a shirtless, rugged, dirty Hugh Jackman throwing water all over himself. And um, the movie was pretty good too. I found it much better on rewatch and I don't understand why the critics were so harsh on it. I don't think they get Baz, but he is my faaaaaavourite.
24. Chicago Cab (18.02.09) 1/5
I bought this for $2 from a discount bin, annnd I see now why it was in there. Lolol Gillian playing "southside girl", John Cusack playing "scary man" and Julianne Moore playing "distraught woman". And during the movie, the cab driver would randomly shout things like "why does everything fucking suck?" and start crying. IT WAS WEIRD.
25. The Deaths of Ian Stone (20.02.09) 1/5
I don't know what to say about this one either. Except it made absolutely no sense whatsoever. (This was the one Nina picked from the discount bin, so, again, understandable).
26. Zodiac (26.02.09) 2/5
This was SO LONG and SO BORING, idek. I thought it was never going to end, and when it did, it had no resolution! I was not happy. It diiiid have Mark Ruffalo, though, who I find delightful.
27. The Pursuit of Happyness (28.02.09) 3/5
This was incredibly depressing. Luckily it did have a happy ending, though.
28. Revolutionary Road (05.03.09) 4/5
God, so much desperation in one film. The performances were amaaazing (and the fight scenes were incredibly realistic). The characters weren't particularly likeable, but you still find them wanting to be okay and to make it through together. This also needs the obligatory KATE AND LEO! comment, because omg amazing. And lolol, Kathy Bates was in it too, Titanic reunion much?
29. The Water Horse - Legend of the Deep (08.03.09) 3/5
It's amazing how involved I became in the welfare of this creature!
30. Fool's Gold (09.03.09) 1/5
This was so incredibly ridiculous. I especially liked the part where they were flying the plane perfectly even though they didn't know how, then took their hands off the controls to make out. Kate and Matthew are pretty hot together, though.
31. Choke (10.03.09) 2/5
This was ... icky. It was kind of humourous sometimes? But um.
32. Headspace (11.03.09) 0/5
Well! This had blood noses dripping onto birthday cakes, claws scatching off people's faces, chess, an asian guy with extremely high spiky hair, a guy smiling and drinking beer while watching his friends having sex, are they or are they not gargoyles?, and me falling asleep and then a pill bottle rattling in the movie scaring me half to death.
33. Transamerica (11.03.09) 3/5
This contained the single most awkward movie moment in the history of cinema, I swear to god. Nina and I were literally turned away from it screaming, unable to even look at it. (Watch it and I guarantee you'll know which scene, omg DDDDDDDDDD:). Plus it had a hundred other embarrassing moments. AND LOL THE DROOLING. But idk, it was still pretty good.
34. Fight Club (12.03.09) 4/5
It's hard to rate a movie that you found absolutely revolting and could probably never watch again, but that you can see is absolutely masterfully constructed. Also the last 30 minutes or so were really really awesome and surprising and twisted.
35. Gremlins (13.03.09) 4/5
OH MY GOD I LAUGHED SO HARD. This was absolutely hilarious! I think I saw some of Gremlins 2 when I was little and was scared to death, but omg, it's so freaking funny!
36. Wall-E (13.03.09) 5/5
This was maybe the cutest movie I have ever seen. I got teary about 5 minutes in, just because of how in love with this character I was! Wall-E/Eve were omgsocute, I don't even have words. I am astounded by how much life these little animated characters held.
37. Marley & Me (16.03.09) 4/5
TEARS FROM MY EYES. Seriously, pet movies slay me. :( Apart from that, there was a stage in it where I was like "I'd prefer to be alone forever than have this!" buuuut the family gradually became cuter.
38. Watchmen (23.03.09) 2/5
.... this was crazy weird, and incredibly long, and unintentionally hilarious. The sex scenes were so awful, omg, and Malin Ackerman was just terrible (her sex faces cracked Nina and I up SO MUCH). His fantasy with them turning into skeletons was SO LOLARIOUS. Whyyyy was the blue guy naked? Why was that necessary? The funniest part of the entire movie was when the president? turned around and HIS NOSE WAS RETARDED. Nina and I had tears streaming down our faces for about 20 minutes. Anyway, Rorschach was the best character by far and the violence in it was too much for me and I don't get the hype at all. I do concur the opening credits were awesome, though.
39. Kalifornia (23.03.09) 3/5
OMG BRAD PITT AND HIS ACCENT AND HIS GRUNTING/snot sucking/whatever. I mean, he was really good? But that was SO GROSS. I don't know, this was engrossing and well acted and Duchovny looked like a baby eagle (with earrings?), yet it was also fairly disturbing.
40. Quantum of Solace (27.03.09) 3/5
How I felt after this movie is how I usually feel after any Bond movie, which is disappointing really, considering how much I fucking loved Casino Royale. But Daniel Craig is sexy, so that's always a plus. And the directing/editing was amazing.
41. The Shining (28.03.09) 3/5
I was not expected this movie to be so ~indie~! I don't know, it was kiiiind of creepy with some very memorable moments (the maze scene was awesome), but sometimes it was also extremely lolarious. It was also really slow moving, and the lead actress was so awful (and absolutely hideous, tbh).
42. Waitress (06.04.09) 5/5
This was equally filled with moments of :D and D:, BUT IT WAS PERFECT.
43. You, The Living (08.04.09) 1/5
It was supposed to be "visually striking and darkly humourous". I'll give it the first one, but there was not one second of humour/STORY whatsoever. Except for one fat women screaming "no one understands me", 10 minutes of one side of a phone call, a reeeeeally disturbing sex scene, and random people staring from the background in every storyline.
44. Nim's Island (12.04.09) 2/5
The animals were delightful, but the actual storyline was kind of retarded. I did not approve of the Australian stereotypes. I do reiterate my comment about Gerard Butler, though, mmmm.
45. Last Chance Harvey (14.04.09) 3/5
I kind of have a thing for older people love stories? Is that weird? I also have a thing for Emma Thompson, she is delightful. But yeah, this was kiiiiind of forced, and the first 30 minutes were really depressing, but it was also really cute.
46. 17 Again (14.04.09) 4/5
This was fucking awesome, guys :( I don't know if it was the awesome night time movie atmosphere or what, but I found it incredibly funny. And um, I never realised how hot Zac Efron was either, omg.
47. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (30.04.09) 4/5
I admit, I ... didn't much care about the movie, I wanted to see hot Hugh Jackman, and it certainly delivered in that regard. HE WAS NAKED, GUYS >:) And also! The movie was really pretty awesome!
48. The Size of Watermelons (30.04.09) 1/5
Oh god lol. Little Paul Rudd who really needed to re-think the length of his sideburns (... I've seen Bridget Jones's Diary too many times).
49. Just Buried (30.04.09) 1/5
This was just awful. It was supposed to be a black comedy but it wasn't funny at all. I also think all three of us that were watching it had several heart attacks when that guy impaled his eye on the sewing machine.
50. Heavenly Creatures (01.05.09) 4/5
Oh wow, this was totally not what I was expecting! In a wonderful way, though. The ~imagination~ storylines were all kinds of awesome, as was the way the whole movie was filmed. YOUNG KATE WINSLET, too. She never ever ceases to delight me. Melanie Lynskey was astounding too. However, the girl's relationship really creeped me out, and THE END. I could not watch.
51. Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day (07.05.09) 4/5
... I was drooling two minutes in. WHY IS LEE PACE SO SEXY?!!! I kind of love everyone who was in this movie, but um, no one else really existed for a British, piano playing, SINGING Lee Pace. It is awesome for containg
this scene alone. I TURN INTO A PUDDLE OF GOO EVERY TIME HE SMILES. (Also, the movie was fairly engaging and cute by itself, but just ... nnnnngh).
52. The Boat That Rocked (08.05.09) 4/5
This was basically a giant party movie about people that loved music in the sixties, and it was so fun and funny and wonderful.
53. The Fall (08.05.09) 5/5
... I have so much I want to say about this movie, but I don't even know where to begin. Firstly: HOW THE FUCK WAS THIS LEE PACE'S SECOND MOVIE EVER? He is so, so mindblowingly amazing in this. I thought he was talented before this, but this raises the bar on talented. This performance was stunning. Secondly: This movie was magnificient. The contrast between the storytelling scenes and the hospital scenes was amaaaaazing, and the gradual melding of the two was perfect. Roy and Alexandria's scenes were so natural and wonderful, and I think I felt every emotion under the sun while watching it. Final (shallow) note - goddamn, he looked fiiiiiiiine in this.
54. How To Lose Friends & Alienate People (11.05.09) 3/5
Fairly amusing at points. Also fairly stupid & cliché at points. GILLIAN :D!
55. Billy Bathgate (19.05.09) 2/5
I still kind of have the goal that eleven year old me had, which is to watch every Nicole Kidman movie pre-Moulin Rouge. And she was really a qt in this. But uuuuugh, this was pretty slow moving with no real plot, and it had some really gross moments!
56. Slumdog Millionaire (22.05.09) 5/5
WOW. Gorgeous, gorgeous movie, in every way. It was just stunningly filmed, and the storyline was amazing, and the way they put it together was A+. It was equal parts depressing and happy and wonderful and DEV PATEL :DDDDD
57. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (23.05.09) 2/5
Drug movies scare the shit out of me, and this was ... kind of the pinnacle of that. But it gets points just because it exists, crazy as it is. The dinosaur part was lolarious.
58. Nights in Rodanthe (23.05.09) 1/5
Oh god. This was actually humiliating to watch. I know I said I liked older people love stories, but this was much too much! Also, the storyline was ridiculously lame, the way they behaved seemed completely abnormal to me, and the ~sad~ part made me yawn.
59. Me Without You (31.05.09) 1/5
Uuuuugh, if a movie is on youtube it is just so tempting for me! This was fairly messy and ... horrible, not as in bad (although it was), but just awful to watch. Sleazy tutor scared me. But yay, Anna Friel! Il her so much annnnd she is so beautiful it pains me (although her blonde was so Lindsay Lohan! The resemblance was uncanny!) And Oliver Milburn is HOT. But um, yeah. The ending was DDDDDDDD:
60. Superhero Movie (01.06.09) 2/5
These sorts of movies are SO AWFUL yet so amusing, somehow :(
61. To Die For (01.06.09) 4/5
See number 55 re: Nicole Kidman goal. I miss this Nicole! She was so gorgeous in this and played this part perfectly (the way she delivered lines like "keep your fucking mouth shut!" with a big sunny smile was lolarious). Lmfaoooo at Joaquin Phoenix dancing! And the fact that her dog looked just like Queequeg. Anyway, I reeeeeally liked the way this was done. Gus Van Sant is awesome.
62. High Fidelity (02.06.09) 4/5
This was a fantastic adaptation, and John Cusack was exactly who I imagined for this character.
63. Jackass (14.06.09)
I actualfax gagged when the guy made some "yellow snow" and ate it. Also at the "vomelet", but that was only in the special features. Idk, this is kind of unrateable? It was equal parts horrible and hilarious.
64. Jackass 2 (14.06.09)
I can't remember what I gagged at this time, but I'm sure it was something. See above!
65. The Hangover (15.06.09) 4/5
Haaaaaaaa, this was fucking hilarious. "Reh-tard" was pretty much the greatest line ever. The photo montage at the end was so lolarious.
66. Role Models (15.06.09) 4/5
Ilu so much, Paul Rudd. And I like "McLovin" so much better after this movie. Idk, this was hilarious with a ~moral~.
67. Dead Silence (15.06.09) 3/5
This was really really creepy. Ventriloquist dolls! Come to life! Murdering people creepily! And the ennnnnnnd, omg, I was so surprised.
68. Pathology (16.06.09) 2/5
This storyline was some fucked up shit.
69. The Lords of Dogtown (16.06.09) 2/5
Lol at there being pretty much no storyline whatsoever. But idk, skating movies are fun?!
70. The Ringer (16.06.09) 2/5
Wow, so ridiculously politically incorrect & awkward.
71. Grind (16.06.09) 4/5
Nina and I were expecting this to be so shit! But it basically turned out the be an epic, hilarious bromance movie! With skating! And random dance sequences! And an adorable young Adam Brody!
72. Shadow Puppets (16.06.09) 1/5
The storyline involved amnesia and shadows killing people. The woman was so ridiculous. She walked into this room, Nina goes "it's a coffin!", I go "it looks like something to do with air pressure!" and she goes "it's a sensory deprivation cell!", like it was common knowledge. (When I tried to repeat this line I called it a "solitary removement room" :/). Also Nina misheard "mind wiped somebody without a mind" as "mind raped somebody without a mop". Oh, shitty movies, how hilarious you are sometimes.
73. Timber Falls (16.06.09) 2/5
The idea of this was fucking terrifying. These insane religious people kidnapped this couple and kept trying to get them to have sex so they could steal their baby. IT WAS HORRIFYING. Beth Broderick has totally been tainted for me now, she was so scary in this.
74. Terms of Endearment (19.06.09) 2/5
Idk, old ~classics~ like this always disappoint me. The daughter's storyline was D: from beginning to end. I looooooove Shirley MacLaine, though, and her and Jack Nicholson were fairly adorable. He's such a skeezy guy but I kind of love him. I wasn't really that moved by the ending, though? Maybe because I knew what happened beforehand?
75. Jumper (19.06.09) 2/5
This had no plot, but the locations and special effects were awesome. I wish I could become a mediocre actor to be in movies like this.
76. The Proposal (30.06.09) 4/5
There was legitimately 10 minutes of this movie that I wasn't laughing hysterically. Yes, the story is formulaic, but holy crap it was hilarious. I looooove Sandra Bullock & Betty White, too. It was fun!
77. Quills (10.07.09) 2/5
I ... don't know what to say. Not what I was expecting? It was horrible and scarring and tragic and some more horrible. :/ Joaquin Phoenix was actually really hot in this and his acting was amaaaaazing, as were Kate & Geoffery. Michael Caine's character was terrifying.
78. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (16.07.09) 4/5
Idk what I can say? It was epic and hilarious and I enjoyed it a lot.
79. Mirrors (16.07.09) 2/5
Wow, weird. This made no sense, pretty much, and when that woman ripped her own face open? HOLY FUCKING FUCK, that was horrible. The end was completely random too.
80. The Strangers (17.07.09) 1/5
This blew. I was expecting this to be really scary, but ... not much happened? A person with a mask would appear, scare the shit out of the couple and then disappear into thin air. I established that they must have had magic powers to disappear like they did. Also I think we predicted every plot event that happened for the whole movie.
81. Just Add Water (17.07.09) 1/5
Nothing happened for the whole movie (and I swear I would die if I lived in a place like that), then everything happened in 10 minutes but it made no sense whatsoever. >:(
82. Straightheads (28.07.09) 0/5
What the fuck was this movie. I felt physically sick for 99% of it. It was honestly the most disgusting movie I've ever seen, and I've watched a lot of horror movies.
83. Man on Wire (29.07.09) 4/5
This was fascinating and inspiring and brilliantly put together. Amazing story.
84. Seven Pounds (17.08.09) 1/5
We spent most of the movie trying to work out what the hell was going on. Oh goddddddddd the premise, it's so ~dramatic~, it was hilarious. But not really, because it sucked. And Will Smith cried a lot. It was prettily filmed though, I will give it that.
85. Wanted (21.08.09) 3/5
This was simultaneously the lamest and most awesome movie ever. Like, the storyline was super weird (seriously, fortune telling from weaving?), but the way it was filmed was awesome. It was also fun to watch James McAvoy being so kickass.
86. The Thrill of it All (22.08.09) 0/5
Jfc this was so fucking horrible. I mean, I know it's from 1963, but I can't even believe movies like this used to be shown. It was the most sexist thing I've ever seen in my life. Her giving up her career because "all I want is to be a doctors wife"?? GAG.
87. My Bloody Valentine 3D (26.08.09) 1/5
LOL OH MAN, this made no sense at all. The 3D sucked really bad, a woman ran around completely naked for about 10 minutes before dying, and the ~revelation scene completely contradicted what had actually happened in the movie. Oh, and the ending also failed.
88. Hancock (31.08.09) 3/5
I thought this was one kind of movie, and it was kind of funny, but then suddenly the story completely changed and multiple plotlines were introduced and there were ~dramatic~ (fail) hospital scenes. I don't know, it wasn't particularly bad, and it was prettily filmed, but I think they made it more complicated than was necessary.
89. Memento (31.08.09) 5/5
OH MAN, I heard this movie was hard to follow, and it waaaaaas to an extent, but jfc it was amazing. I loved the backwards storytelling, I loved how that tied in perfectly with his condition, I loved how the ending (which was actually the beginning) was completely unexpected. I've never seen anything like it.
90. Goal! 2: Living the Dream (31.08.09) 3/5
I usually hate stories where people turn into assholes when they get too rich and famous, but this one wasn't tooooo bad. It was very pretty and I could not work out how they filmed the soccer scenes (apparantly they use footage from actual games). I hated the brother character though. And WTAF, TO BE CONTINUED? I heard Goal III sucked and didn't even have the same characters! LAAAAAAAME.
91. The Day The Earth Stood Still (06.09.09) 2/5
This was kind of awesome to start off with, probably because I love apocalyptic/alien takeover movies (idec if it's lame, I do!) but what the actual fuck, the alien was like "humans are destroying the Earth, so we must eliminate you" which honestly seemed fair enough, but then the lady was like "we can change!" and then he witnessed ~love~ and believed it? But decided to remove all power from the Earth on his way out? The end. FAIL.
92. Tropic Thunder (07.09.09) 3/5
The beginning (oh my god, RDJ and Tobey McGuire holding hands and gasping made me lol so hard) and
end (TOM CRUISE, so fucking hilarious) were absolutely brilliant. But the middle was kind of ... I don't know. It dragged a bit. I still found it pretty funny though, and all the cameos were great. Tom Cruise, omg. I was definitely laughing in
this scene, lmfao.
93. The Game (07.09.09) 3/5
I know I've seen this on lists of 'the most surprising endings of all time!' so I was coming up with all these awesome conclusions for it, because the middle part really was pretty cool, but the ending being all "it was all a game! THE END" really really failed. Srsly.
94. Independance Day (12.09.09) 3/5
HA BABY!ADAM BALDWIN, so adorable. Idk, this a was pretty awesome apocalyptic movie, it was very entertaining. Will Smith punching an alien in the face was lolarious.
95. Burn After Reading (14.09.09) 1/5
Wow, I reeeeeeally hated this. I usually like interlinking stories but this sucked so fucking bad. It was so boring. Best review I read was "unlikable characters who do stupid things".
96. (500) Days of Summer (18.09.09) 5/5
This may not have been a perfect movie, but I feel like it was made for me. Two actors who I adore, with about 5 of my favourite songs/bands composing the soundtrack (I died when "Bookends" came on!), filmed perfectly and in my absolute favourite way. I loved it - it was funny, poignant, romantic, sad, and hopeful.
97. Happy-Go-Lucky (20.09.09) 3/5
I ... don't know what to say? This was the most random movie ever, and the main character's personality was sunshine personified. When she got attacked by her driving instructor I was laughing so hard at how calm she still seemed. He was fucking nuts, as a sidenote. Although when he was like "you go home, and you fuck your boyfriend, and you fuck your girlfriend!" I laughed so so hard.
98. Surrogates (30.09.09) 2/5
Robot movies scare me! The idea of this was pretty awesome/creepy, but it had some problems with plot execution. It was still fairly enjoyable to watch though.
99. Men in Black (04.10.09) 3/5
One day later and I can't even remember the storyline (OH YEAH, something about a giant cockroach possessing Vincent D'Onofrio's body) but yeah, it was kind of hilarious in the lamest way ever.
!!! 100. Jeux d'Enfants (05.10.09) 3/5
I kind of feel like I missed what was going on. They had a seriously fucked up relationship, though. Anyway I kept thinking I had a grip on what was happening but then the ending really confused me (I'm guessing it was an alternate universe??). Whatever, WEIRD. But the cinematography was goooorgeous and fun and Pushing Daisies-esque!
101. Blindness (21.10.09) 1/5
I was actually excited for this movie, and wow, not impressed. I am not a fan of unrealistic anarchy, basically, and I found the fact that all of these people got thrown into a asylum without any research occurring ridiculous. The Lord of the Flies-esque conditions in the asylum were more plausible, but absolutely horrible to watch. I felt like gagging. Then the last 30 minutes were completely unnecessary. Overall it was trying to be shocking, but it just felt contrived. Also the fact that the characters didn't have names was so pretentious.
102. The Duchess (25.10.09) 3/5
I am so glad I wasn't born in the 18th century. And jfc, the costume designer for this movie really did an incredible job.
103. Get Smart (08.11.09) 1/5
I love Steve Carell. I love Anne Hathaway. I hated this.
104. Jaws (08.11.09) 3/5
I did not realise that half of this movie occurred on a boat! Also, the shark was very impressive looking, considering how old this movie is.
105. Shakespeare in Love (19.11.09) 4/5
I enjoyed this! It was very easy to watch and I liked all the characters.
106. The 40 Year Old Virgin (27.11.09) 4/5
LOL FOREVER. Steve Carell is god.
107. Up (02.12.09) 4/5
I WAS CRYING MY EYES OUT IN THE FIRST 15 MINUTES, WHAT WAS THIS MOVIE?? It reached right down to my heartstrings and gave them a really good tug. SO MUCH ADORABLE, HOW MUCH DO I LOVE PIXAR. Also the animation was absolutely incredible.
108. Paranormal Activity (08.12.09) 2/5
... I don't get the fuss. Really. I think it was waaaaay too hyped up and it just was not scary at all. Plus we were in a cinema where people started yelling at each other in the middle of the movie, fun times.
109. Red Dragon (08.12.09) 3/5
I never even knew this movie existed, but it was pretty awesome! Hannibal Lector movies are always creepy, I always think Anthony Hopkins is a serial killer irl now because he was so good in that role.
2008 1. What's It All About? by Michael Caine.
I loooove autobiographies, guys, and Caine has a very straightfoward, honest and self deprecating writing style. I enjoyed it a lot, actually, it was always hard to tear myself away from it.
2. High Fidelity by Nick Hornby
I reaaaaally love the way this guy writes about people. He captures them, almost to an unsettling extent. This was basically about a guy who had serious relationship problems and who was obsessed with music. I certainly identified.
3. Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote
4. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
5. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
I legitimately cried through the entire thing. I think I was in a certain mood but oh my god, I have never cried anywhere near as much as this at a book in my life.
These are TV seasons that I saw in full for the first time this year.
