Gin Tasting at Jim & Kristin's House

Charlie's friends hosted a BBQ and gin tasting at their place. We brougth two gins - a local one called "Blade" and Hendrick's. After going through the rounds of about six different gins Hendrick's came out on top. Tanqueray came in second and was actually the favorite when had with some tonic. I am not a bg fan of alcohol in general, but Hendrick's g&ts are FANTASTIC.

Hendrick's was definitely the smoothest and most complex of them all but seemed a bit subtle for a G&T. Tanqueray was not great straight-up but its best qualities were highlighted by the tonic addition, ending up with a sweeter and cleaner G&T than Hendrick's. Supposedly Tanqueray is typically a cheaper brand, but ounce-to-ounce it was the same as Hendrick's, so if I had the chance to choose between one or the other I'd definitely pick Hendrick's.
