One great thing about living in New York City is that it welcomes the effort you put into things and returns dividends. Yes, I was fired by that client a couple weeks back but I was immediately referred to another by an ex-coworker. B1? Goddamn it. I'm officially jealous. Farthest I've ever been able to get down and feel like I have anything the resembles a pure tone is D#2, but it costs me, like, all of my volume.

But by the same token, I can also go up to about A4, sometimes A#, before I absolutely positively have to switch to falsetto for the next octave. So while I can't complain too loudly, I just wish I were a proper basso profundo.

That's a great range you have, though! Yeah, I can only do a B with certain vowels and the volume difference between a B1 and a C2 is pretty big. I've gotten a Bflat a couple times in the morning but not after a proper warm up.

Are you still in Toronto? We'll be up in Toronto on the 25th and 26th and will be going to The Knife concert while we're there.

Yeah, we're still here--sticking around for the foreseeable future, anyway; we both have good jobs here, and our son's in a great daycare.. Not to mention all our friends are here!
