See? Still alive.
And now, a musing on the stages of medical training.
Coming out of undergrad as a pre med, you can read sheet music. You understand the notes, but actually making music is still a bit mysterious. Now, you just have to decide what kind of instrument you want to play.
Coming out of med school, you have learned how to play an instrument. You can plink and plonk your way through a song and while it's recognizable as Joy to the World or Stairway to Heaven it's not exactly... pleasant to listen to.
Coming out of residency, you have learned the feel and art of music. You can partake in a jam session or two if you're feeling bold and you've got some standards you can play pretty darn well - but you're unsure how to take the lead.
I'm looking forward to that time after I've been practicing for a few years, when I can conduct the orchestra. To see all the pieces moving, to guide them in an elegant and organized fashion, all while looking snazzy in the coolest outfit and netting the biggest salary. :)

More disjointedness.
When are y'all coming down to visit? I'm serious. After november, I will have more free time than average and Savannah will be beautiful, while Michigan is cold and disgusting. We have a well-appointed guest room and a kitchen I can actually entertain from now.
