My mom made me tell my grandma about my lesbianism, and she seems to be cool with it, surprisingly. So, at the very least, I have one relative on my side :)

Sometimes that's all it takes for these kinds of people to think in new ways.
In their world, gay = nasty and you = nice, so if you = gay, that makes them wrong about either gay = nasty or you = nice. Hopefully blood will be thicker than water and they'll come to the right conclusion. ;)

I am aggravated by those who are extremely socially conservative as well. My mother used to be somewhat moderate, kind of Libertarian-y, but since she started listening to Rush Limbaugh for hours and hours each day... Well. 'Nuff said.

oh, pff, family sucks most of the time anyway. That's why I never talk to them about anything. Besides, I don't really care about what they think so it all comes like Charly Brown's teacher going "Blah, blah, blah" it works to just not care, and an inner eye-roll is good too. Pff, you can't make a loser suck any less. Also, I'm astounded that you talked to anyone about you being a lesbian. My family doesn't knows that I'm bisexual, or that I write, or draw and paint, or even my spiritual beliefs. Lol! You're so open! Actually I was a little amazed when you said (at some point, I just can't keep track of time now XD) that you talk about stories with your mom! I was like "Wow! Such an open relationship!" My mom just knows I write because she hears all the typing. Lol!
But, pfff, don't mind family, most are just kinda sucky just because we don't get to chose them XD
