Interesting update! The introduction of Sabine & Colette in the last chapter was suspicious in and of the fact that they had no known connection to the case thus far. The mere fact that a political power house, and her super model/humanitarian wife came to a local murderer trial begs the big fat question "WHY" ? Then to have Kahlan to dinner only increases my suspicious side. The art work also intrigues me. Sabine/Colette have a vast collection of art, Cara in her own rite is an accomplished artist. So is there a connection to Darken via the art? Art is like money, and when money is involved it can lead you anywhere. Kahlan is a good attorney. Her instinct about a hidden agenda with the lovely ladies should be telling her to get her PI digging into Colette/Sabine activity's prior to the murderer. As to Denna, there is nothing preventing you or your investigator from talking to her about what she knows, or doesn't know. She of course can refuse to talk to you or the PI. I think because Michael is such an asshat, and has not given you

It looks like Sabine and Colette's stake in this case is going to be surprising, which is interesting since I thought I kind of telegraphed it. The artwork certainly hints at something altogether deeper. Could it be money? Sure, but it could also be a zillion other things. The PI is most certainly going to have a big role in how this whole thing plays out.

I like your suggestion of having Kahlan call Denna as a witness for the defense. Having Maxine talk to Denna could be interesting as well. Although I don't know if I want to go there or not.

Cara undoubtedly loves Kahlan but she's going to have to step up if she wants them to make a go of it. She's been wearing her heart on her sleeve, but Cara isn't giving her much to work with. Heck, I would have kicked her to curb by now!

There are no words that can relate how much I love this fic...and it keeps on getting better and better. Those looks between the 2 of them in the bedroom are etched in my mind. So well written!
Sure, take your time writing Chapter 13....and drive me crazy in the mean time!

Good update i'm finding this story more intriguing with every update. I think Kahlan should be weary of Colette and Sabine they seem to have something to hide or an agenda. I like the playfull banter between Cara and kahlan. I wonder what Kahlan is going to do about Sabrina she seems to be trying really hard to find reasons why she should be with her. I hope she can figure out what she wants before it is to late and someone gets hurt. Love the story of how her mother got a bill passed for her and Cara to be married. I do hope they end up married in the end it would totally be fitting and something she will be able to cherish even more because of her mother. Thank you again and will be patiently waiting for the next update. Do take your time but not too long LOL

I agree, Colette and Sabine do seem to have an agenda; whether or not it's nefarious has yet to be determined.

Insofar as Sabrina, I think Kahlan is trying really hard to force herself to have real, actual feelings for her, but at the end of the day, love isn't something you can talk yourself into -- or out of, for that matter.

Hopefully, it will all work out in the end :)
